I love what i gave myself for my birthday…

I scrapped an ‘S’ grade for H1 China Studies in English.   Argh!

*Reflections*

1. Time allocation
2. Read the question and answer the damn question
NO ONE IS ASKING FOR EXTRA INFORMATION!!!
3. Revise and prepare for the paper.

Joke of the (birth)day!

Posted in random tagged , , , , , , at 4:22 pm by incstint

An eight year old Swedish boy was accused by his teacher of discrimination, because he didn’t invite two classmates to his birthday party.  The school complained to Parliament that the boy violated children’s rights.  WTF.

Birthday party snub sparks debate

Hello Sweden! This is an eight year old boy you are talking about. You can’t blame the lil kid cos the first fella didnt invite him to his party, and the second had fallen out with the kid.  This incident is the lil kid’s affair, not the damn school’s problem.  I believed the kid had no intention to DISCRIMINATE, but rather an intention to get back at the two phallus fellas for what they did to him.  Big boys think differently from small boys, all of us were once eight years old, once snubbing some other fella who offended us.  But we get over the “i don’t friend you” period after a while.

Please give the boy a break!

Learning Journey + Sleepover

Posted in 09S06O tagged , , , at 11:15 am by incstint

09S06O had learning journey to night safari yesterday (27th june). I find it so hard to quantify/qualify what i learnt last night, and i doubt i even learnt anything useful in the whole period spent at night safari. Went on the tram ride when the sun was still up, ended up with a stone guide that gave a boring commentary. We alighted at the East Lodge station, walked the Leopard Trial, then the Fishing Cat Trial and ended up at the first station.

So we queued and boarded the tram for the second time. This time, I find the guide (i believe his name is Shaiful) so much more knowledgeable and helpful. It was an amazing journey through the Himalayan Foothills, Nepalese River Valley, Indian Subcontinent, Equatorial Africa, Malayan Region, Asian Riverine Forest, South America Rampas, and the Burmese Hillside. Chawang, an elephant, eats up to 250kg of food and produces up to 90kg of dung daily.

Loitered at night safari, celebrated the june babies birthdays (THANKS 6O!) and 14 of us set off to Rachel’s house for sleepover. We reached at 12+, which was a pretty late time for a student to reach home AND bring about 13 other people along. I had an almost sleepless night, playing bridge, watching ‘The Devil wears Prada’, ‘Identity’ and ‘Stardust’. By the time stardust ended, it was almost 6, and i decided to fall asleep on the carpet floor.

Was woken up by people leaving at 8am, OMG! i havent wash up, havent had breakfast and i see the class leaving… by the time i brushed my teeth, there was isabelle, rebecca and wenqi left watching another movie, with rachel falling asleep on her chair.

Home at 10.30 this morning, feeling so tired after that two-hour nap.

i’m off to sleep.

What’s next?

I see myself on SportOn’s SPNS picture gallery. http://www.sporton.com.sg/PhotoGallery/tabid/119/AlbumID/448-47/Default.aspx

Had an online meeting with my paintball team to map our future plans. I’m in my team’s logistics dept.

SPNS leg 3 is on 12 Oct. I believe its after Promos (I hope it is), which gives me about 3 more months to polish my skills and work on my team communications.

Common Test Over!

Posted in School tagged , , , , , , , at 2:33 pm by incstint

Common tests are over! Econs was bad. Physics killed me. China Studies was bullshitting. For Maths, I killed myself (for not studying enough). Chem was totally unprepared.

The next test coming up would be “showing results to parents”, which i think i will not be able to handle. I can picture my parents screaming at me.

Paintball

Posted in Paintball tagged , , , at 11:54 pm by incstint

Paintball is a gender equal sport. There is no men’s paintball or women’s paintball. There might still be all female teams and all male teams, but it does not mean that we are gender biased. All teams, single/mixed gender play by the same rules, on the same field, on equal status. It is the team work and cooperation between members that differentiates the better ones, not the level of testosterone in the blood of trigger-happy marker-wielding (the thing the fires paintballs is called a MARKER not a gun) people.

I’m looking forward to an interesting time during SPNS leg 2 tomorrow.
