Learning Journey + Sleepover
09S06O had learning journey to night safari yesterday (27th june). I find it so hard to quantify/qualify what i learnt last night, and i doubt i even learnt anything useful in the whole period spent at night safari. Went on the tram ride when the sun was still up, ended up with a stone guide that gave a boring commentary. We alighted at the East Lodge station, walked the Leopard Trial, then the Fishing Cat Trial and ended up at the first station.
So we queued and boarded the tram for the second time. This time, I find the guide (i believe his name is Shaiful) so much more knowledgeable and helpful. It was an amazing journey through the Himalayan Foothills, Nepalese River Valley, Indian Subcontinent, Equatorial Africa, Malayan Region, Asian Riverine Forest, South America Rampas, and the Burmese Hillside. Chawang, an elephant, eats up to 250kg of food and produces up to 90kg of dung daily.
Loitered at night safari, celebrated the june babies birthdays (THANKS 6O!) and 14 of us set off to Rachel’s house for sleepover. We reached at 12+, which was a pretty late time for a student to reach home AND bring about 13 other people along. I had an almost sleepless night, playing bridge, watching ‘The Devil wears Prada’, ‘Identity’ and ‘Stardust’. By the time stardust ended, it was almost 6, and i decided to fall asleep on the carpet floor.
Was woken up by people leaving at 8am, OMG! i havent wash up, havent had breakfast and i see the class leaving… by the time i brushed my teeth, there was isabelle, rebecca and wenqi left watching another movie, with rachel falling asleep on her chair.
Home at 10.30 this morning, feeling so tired after that two-hour nap.
i’m off to sleep.
