Outing

Class outing finally after so long.

Met at ECP at 11am, which marked the start of lag-athon. We lagged. Lagged at macs while ryan finishes his meal. Lagged outside, while waiting for christine. Couldnt decide whether to play poker or frisbee, then lagged again. Couldnt decide if we wanted to bowl, so lagged again. No lanes available, so we went up to arcade and lagged again.

Until 3pm, the guy did their stuff, the girls did their stuff, but at the same location. Frisbee was played separately, we split at the arcade.

But cycling was fun. $6 for 3h was damn worth the money, especially at the end of the month, when im hoping to stretch every single dollar i have. we went all the way from the bike rental near ecp macs to the long stretch of road near changi airport. long but fun route.

Had dinner at marina sq food loft. The place reminds me of the lunches i had with my colleagues during attachment. all the time we spent together, all the words we spoke. after dinner was another sure-have activity at every class outing – cards. i think lagging and cards are the only two stuff tt the class can do.

December ending soon, i need to start revising.

Outing?

More like ‘in’-ing.

Class outing was spent indoors. Wasn’t really class, but for once number of guys = number of girls :)
Went to collect my paintball mask before meeting class because my captain borrowed it. Sian, paint leftovers everywhere. Mahjong at jas house was a little slow, and a little blur too, cause we were not so familiar playing real life. Internet mahjong seems so much easier when there is no need to pick tiles, shuffle tiles, stack tiles manually.

Only ryan, junyu and I went to play pool. The pool cue was bad and it added random externalities to gameplay.

The day wasn’t well spent but it beats having nothing to do, i guess.

Class outing

Class outings are always so fun.  Watched Painted Skin.  The movie was nice, the romance was touching, the action was there, and I would have like it much more if the movie wasn’t so freaking long.  Zhou Xun was a great choice for the Xiao Wei, given that fox spirits in chinese tales are always beautiful in their human form.

The other time I watched a movie by Zhou Xun was Baober in Love *Warning! Nudity in movie* , where she plays a young girl coping with childhood traumas.  Baober in Love touches on the theme change, more specifically the rapid changes that china is going through.

Going back to Painted Skin, the movie is too draggy for my liking.  I actually took out my handphone thrice to look at the time, wondering what time the movie will end.  Exciting, touching, but a bit too long.

After the movie, the class went to celebrate sheryl’s birthday.  I left to collect my mask from Ming, whom i tried to meet for so many times.  Came back, ate dinner, then stone.  This class seems slow in decision making, and decisions are always made simultaneously by two different grps of ppl – guys and gals.  Anyway, what followed was The Long March from taka to merlion park.  It’s a crazy walk but night walks are fun, even more so with the class.

Went home to examine my mask.  E-vents look damn cool lah.  The lens so easy to take out somemore.  Die, no more money to play paintball anymore.  BMO and SPNS registration ate up my monies, but it’s worth spending on things i enjoy doing.  I need a job.

NDP08 celebrations in school was damn high.

Couldn’t see the NDPOC cos the whole hall was standing.  Saw the flag bearers in their uniform, but was wondering why Geeva wasn’t wearing his no. 3.  Working dress would definitely fit the occasion better than combat dress, and short 4 = no. 3 anyway.

Handover ceremony was a bit stone and boring.  Community singing got our class damn high.  We were jumping to the beat of national day songs, which is unbelievable thinking of it now.  After celebrations was class supper.  Damn fun playing with chansey’s file.  Must have been damn thrilling for her.

Learning Journey + Sleepover

09S06O had learning journey to night safari yesterday (27th june). I find it so hard to quantify/qualify what i learnt last night, and i doubt i even learnt anything useful in the whole period spent at night safari. Went on the tram ride when the sun was still up, ended up with a stone guide that gave a boring commentary. We alighted at the East Lodge station, walked the Leopard Trial, then the Fishing Cat Trial and ended up at the first station.

So we queued and boarded the tram for the second time. This time, I find the guide (i believe his name is Shaiful) so much more knowledgeable and helpful. It was an amazing journey through the Himalayan Foothills, Nepalese River Valley, Indian Subcontinent, Equatorial Africa, Malayan Region, Asian Riverine Forest, South America Rampas, and the Burmese Hillside. Chawang, an elephant, eats up to 250kg of food and produces up to 90kg of dung daily.

Loitered at night safari, celebrated the june babies birthdays (THANKS 6O!) and 14 of us set off to Rachel’s house for sleepover. We reached at 12+, which was a pretty late time for a student to reach home AND bring about 13 other people along. I had an almost sleepless night, playing bridge, watching ‘The Devil wears Prada’, ‘Identity’ and ‘Stardust’. By the time stardust ended, it was almost 6, and i decided to fall asleep on the carpet floor.

Was woken up by people leaving at 8am, OMG! i havent wash up, havent had breakfast and i see the class leaving… by the time i brushed my teeth, there was isabelle, rebecca and wenqi left watching another movie, with rachel falling asleep on her chair.

Home at 10.30 this morning, feeling so tired after that two-hour nap.

i’m off to sleep.
