13th Jan
School ends 1.30 for open house prep. open house prep fails. our booth had nth to put up, and i had to put up all 15 posters myself. The rest of the exco can just eat grass and die.

14th Jan
Open house. Sucks. Comsci too geek alr. So i spent my time playing with static at electronic’s booth and walking the hall. Heritage trial was lonely.

15th Jan
Just another boring day

Problems and Challenges

Posted in Life, School, random tagged , , , , at 12:14 am by incstint

Things can go wrong anytime, anywhere in school.

PW lesson was screwed up today. Rather, I screwed the lesson up for myself.
I finally realised the importance of filing, but habits die hard… I’m still trying to get myself accustomed to the idea of putting notes, worksheets etc in order.

When things go wrong, we used to call them problems.  In Singapore today, we call them challenges.
“No problems will remain unsolved, only challenges that pushes us to our limits.”  That’s why life is more miserable now than before.  Even the term “challenging questions” has been used to replace the “maths problems” that I used to see in my notes.  As our abilities rise to meet OLD expectations, expectations goes higher to test our abilities, resulting in a never ending climb to infinity.

It is not that I’m against the continual upgrading of ourselves, but the quest for knowledge has degraded into a paper chase, where your achievements printed in black and white decides your destiny.  To survive in modern Singapore, I shall start to work hard, work smart, but I will not forget about playing hard and reserving time to pursue my non-academic interests.
